The four ladies are hybrids of Japanese-Daruma-Doll and Norwegian-Folk-Costume. Getting the ‘L’ right is a serious business here. I heard ‘PRAYING’ (as far as a Daruma doll goes), perhaps, they said ‘PLAYING’?
